Across both our Primary and Secondary years, Toowoomba Christian College aims to provide a range of both competitive and non-competitive sporting opportunities.
Through all of our sporting activities, we aim to ensure our school culture is expressed – to each other, our community and our interactions with others outside the school. We believe that our sporting activities provide students with opportunities to grow in character – from learning discipline and self-control, sportsmanship, and respect for others and authority.
We emphasise the importance of character in sport through our school houses: Chisholm, Graham, Lewis and Taylor. Each are named after Christians who have shown great commitment to God as they pursued a certain area of service to God and their fellow man, keeping with the College’s motto Pro Ductibus, Pro Patriae: ‘for leadership and for country’.

Chisholm
Courage and Strength
Named after Caroline Chisholm (1808 – 1877) – a great Australian Catholic humanitarian, whose life’s work helped the gospel to change others’ lives. During a seven- year period, she placed over 11,000 people in homes and jobs.
Graham
Grace and Endurance
Named after Billy Graham (1918-2018) – a great American Baptist evangelist, whose life’s work helped the gospel to be proclaimed. He preached Christianity to live audiences of nearly 215 million people in more than 185 countries.
Lewis
Leadership and Influence
Named after C.S Lewis (1898-1963) – a great British Anglican thinker and writer, and academic at Oxford and Cambridge universities, whose life’s work helped the gospel to be understood.
Taylor
Truth and Dedication
Named after Hudson Taylor (1832-1905) and his wife, Maria Taylor (1837-1870) – two great British Protestant missionaries whose lives’ works helped the gospel to be taken to the people of China. They founded the organisation that is now known as the Overseas Missionary Fellowship, which today has over 1400 workers from over 40 nations.
